Located in the heart of the Almaguin Highlands, Homestead Sawmill is a small, family-run business that specializes in rough-cut lumber, custom sawmilling, and specialty wood products. We offer a variety of species including white pine, hemlock, maple, oak and spruce.

A cut above.

We offer a unique service by providing top quality lumber products that are hard to find for the customer who requires a specialty item like no other. We take pride in being able to provide a short distance market for logs when transportation is an issue, as well as providing an outlet for minor species that do not have available log markets, but have great niche lumber markets. Species that we specialize in include:

  • Birds-eye Maple
  • Curly Maple
  • Curly Birch
  • White Ash
  • Tamarack
  • Hemlock

We will cut any species for rough cut lumber to requested dimensions.

Products & Services

Custom Sawmilling

We offer custom sawmilling of a variety of species of hard and soft wood. We will cut to any dimensions requested. All live edge, rough cut, and timbers stickered, stacked, covered and air dried.

Live edge Lumber

We are known for being able to provide our clients with custom live edge specialty woods including Oak, Curly Maple, Birds Eye Maple, and Cherry. We will cut any type of species of live edge.

Logs and Timbers

We offer flexible log/timber milling options for orders of almost any quantity or dimension and will sell whole logs in most species, from 8ft to 20ft. We will also cut any species log into any size timbers, from 8ft to 20ft long.

Rough Cut Lumber

As a supplier of rough cut lumber, we cut and stock products with exceptional quality and accuracy at a competitive price, including pine, hemlock, cedar, and spruce. We have a huge inventory of custom timbers & lumber for your next project.
